What I was Looking For

I met Stephen and Kristen through some mutual friends that were hosting a Jody Cunningham Horsemanship Clinic. I had some young horses at home and had been looking for a trainer to send them to. Having had some trying experiences with other horse trainers in the area, I was desperate to find someone that I not only trusted enough to leave my horses with, but someone who knew what true horsemanship was. I wanted someone who could build on the foundation I had already started at home.
They were exactly what I was looking for. I have sent both my 2-yr olds to Stephen and have been very pleased. He and Kristen have been great the entire time, whether it was during training or after I brought my horse home.
I love it that they are always trying to further their knowledge of horses and horsemanship skills. They don't hesitate to ask me questions about my horses own personality quirks. We have worked together on any issues my horses may have. I ALWAYS feel welcome when I go out to see my horses.
They always answer any questions I may have, HONESTLY, whether it's what I want to hear or what I NEED to hear. The questions can be about training or just horses in general.
I have had a great experience with these guys and have learned soooo much from them.

I tell any and everyone I know looking for a trainer, to call them up. I would NEVER hesitate to send my horse to them.

Almost Given Up |
I have a horse I had almost given up on. He is 6 years old, had no formal training or discipline. A friend recommended Stephen after he had trained her horses and had awesome results. I took my horse to him in May not knowing if he could help. Within a couple of months my horse had a new attitude!! I did not have a chance to see him during this time, but when I did, I was amazed! I even rode him for the first time ever!
The techniques Stephen uses give great results and a disciplined, respectful horse. My horse still has his spirit and personality, but is now a confident and behaved horse. Stephen is very professional and willing to work with horse and rider. I feel like Stephen spent more time on our horse than what it cost us.
