Impressed and Relieved

I volunteer with an equine rescue group in Alabama so I have had many horses in my care over the years.  I have used several equine trainers but I was never quite satisfied with them.  I began searching for a new trainer. I called around and asked for references. That is how I found Stephen Freeman.

He came to my house and did one training session with both my horses.  His knowledge of natural horsemanship techniques was immediately evident.  He had both horses, yielding, bending, backing and desensitized to a whip in no time at all.  He did not hesitate to push them to their limits and quickly found their problem areas.  One of them tried to bite and buck but Stephen was not concerned.  I was so very impressed and relieved to have finally found someone who was both knowledgeable and confident.

Since that time, he has trained two horses for me and several for friends of mine that I have referred to him.  I have spent lots of time there watching him work with almost every kind of horse (from a Draft Cross to a Friesian stallion) and I can say I would trust him with any horse.  Stephen is honest, hardworking and courageous.  He has never been heavy handed or used any harsh techniques.  Your horse will be respectful, well behaved and able to perform when Stephen is done with them.  You can be sure you will get your money’s worth of training with Stephen.  I only wish I had found him years ago!

Dangerous Filly

My filly was dangerous! She was aggressive and disrespectful. She chased me out of the round pen and she also tried to bite me. I finally figured out she was more than I could handle. She needed to be taught to respect humans, and I needed help.
Stephen Freeman has been a life saver! I liked Stephen from the time He came over to check out my "little angel". He was very calm, but firm. I never once saw him lose his temper or treat my filly cruelly. He was precise and knew how to get her to move and respect his space. I couldn't believe it! There was hope after all.

Stephen took Dana for 2 months and broke her. During her training I was able to go over and ride her myself. I was thrilled. Stephen has kept in touch since Dana has been home and has been kind enough to come over and help me with [our] continued training. I would highly recommend Stephen to anyone who needs help with their "little angel". I am so grateful for all his help!
